Canadore is holding its convocation ceremonies for the Schools of Health Sciences, Law and Justice and Office Administration programs on May 26.

Guest speaker Dr. Joseph Madden, Chief of Staff, North Bay Regional Health Centre, will be speaking to over 320 graduates.

Dr. Joseph Madden, Chief of staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, began his pediatric career in Canada in 1981. Prior to moving to Toronto, Dr. Madden earned his medical degree from National University of Ireland in Dublin, Ire. He furthered his education in obstetrics, pediatrics and neonatology. He has been professionally recognized for his teaching by the Northern Ontario Family Medicine Program and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Ottawa and the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He is also the recipient of the City of North Bay's Citizen of the Year Award as well as the Rotary Club Contribution to Community Award in 2008.

"Anyone that has had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Madden can easily see that he is a strong believer of family and community values," said George Burton, President of Canadore College. "His zest for life has translated into leadership roles in his practice and at the hospital. His refreshing ideas have raised the bar for collaboration, mutual respect and trust between medical practitioners. Canadore is pleased to be granting Dr. Madden with an honourary diploma for the many contributions he has brought to fruition in our region."

Canadore is very proud of all its graduates for their accomplishments and for achieving their education goals. Each year, the College graduates approximately 1,000 students. Canadore has conferred over 36,000 alumni since its doors opened.
