Council candidate Marcus Tignanelli says the future of North Bay is to gain the confidence of investors and companies in North Bay as well as acknowledging and addressing the concerns of seniors.

Tignanelli says the city must promote a North Bay first attitude.

"If elected I will constantly highlight and execute entrepreneurship, arts and culture, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. To attract people to North Bay we must use the Natural, North, and Near strategy outlined in the Baylor report; people create opportunity and employment will follow. The building of a seamlessly connected community between post-secondary students and non-students is paramount to the growth of our population."

Tignanelli wants to work hand in hand with the province over the next four years at the highest levels.

"Our aging population is not a burden but rather a blessing. We can and will adapt to better serve the needs of this demographic. From the immediate building of seniors residences to analytical emergency service increases and a vibrant active community."

He also joined the chorus calling for transparency and accountability, saying, "In order to regain the public’s trust in the government there needs to be an increase in communication outlets and updates often. Our elected leaders must engage with the community as a community leader, not a politician.
