Collision on 69 claims three lives, including three month old

OPP say yesterday evening around 8 p.m. a van on Highway 529 in Magnetawan First Nation entered onto Highway 69 into the path of a tractor trailer.

OPP say yesterday evening around 8 p.m. a van on Highway 529 in Magnetawan First Nation entered onto Highway 69 into the path of a tractor trailer.

The driver, William Tuck, 71 years old from Lake Helen First Nation, and passengers, Ember Wynne 13 years old and Myah Kotiash three months old from Red Rock Township, died of their injuries.

Two passengers from the van were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries.

The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police, the Sudbury OPP Detachment, the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, Britt Fire Department, Henvey Inlet First Nation Fire Department, Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services, Sudbury EMS, and Ornge Air Ambulance attended the scene.
