With just ten days to go till Christmas, the North Bay Santa Fund is scrambling to raise 80-thousand dollars to meet its target goal of 100-thousand dollars.

Today our colleagues at the Moose Radio in partnership with Cogeco TV heard the plea of Santa Fund co-chair Scott Clark and kicked off a three-day telethon to help boost donations.

City leaders from across the city, including city hall, service clubs and the chamber of commerce have all stopped in to help with hosting duties, but highlight of support has been the North Bay Police Service serving coffee and donuts.

Not only was NBPA President Noel Koulas greeting and serving people as they came in to drop off donations, he also made a sizeable donation on behalf of the North Bay Police Association and challenged everyone to follow suit.

Donations can be made by stopping by the Moose at 118 Main Street East or by calling 475-9991 or by Fax at 475-9058.

The Santa Fund, in its 59th year, provides a traditional Christmas for over 750 families (1,500 children) in the community who are having financial difficulties.

The telethon will wrap up at 2pm on Saturday.
