North Bay Battalion forward Brandon Coe has been selected to play in the CHL Top Prospects Game early next year.
The 25th annual showcase of top CHL players eligible for the NHL Draft takes place on Thursday, January 16, 2020, and is hosted by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Adam Dennis, Battalion general manager, says this is great news for Coe and the program itself.
"First and foremost I think it means a lot to Brandon and his family. I know that they have worked hard to get here and it takes an army so, no pun intended, we are the Battalion and we are just as happy for him," said Dennis.
"It is huge for Brandon but also for our team, we have not had a guy here in a little while so obviously we are over the moon excited to represent us on the big stage."
The third year Battalion forward has nine goals along with 16 assists for 25 points in 29 games this season with the Battalion.
The 40 players selected were chosen by NHL clubs and feature talent from across the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
“All 31 NHL clubs have a say in the player selection process and take great interest in this best-on-best showcase,” said Dan Marr, Director of NHL Central Scouting in a release.
“The Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is a great opportunity for scouts and general managers to evaluate talent and we look forward to seeing which players will make their mark in Hamilton.”
