Nice night for a cleanup along College Drive and Hwy 17! Lots of bottles and car parts found by this pair of volunteers.

The recent clean-up challenge made a big difference to the amount of garbage in North Bay neighbourhoods.

Since March 8, 6,300 bags were delivered, and 400 locations were cleaned up.

"Families were out and about in their neighbourhoods and all over the City," according to a news release. "Many were out individually doing their part to help our city be cleaner, greener and more beautiful.  The community response was, indeed, outstanding! Our city is looking fantastic. Driving along some of the main thoroughfares, it was such a pleasure to see litter-free streets and neighbourhoods."

The Litter free objective is ongoing until November. Bags can be ordered, delivered and picked up by Miller Waste, free of charge, until the first snowfall.

Seven Cleanup crews have been formed to deal with heavily littered areas in various neighbourhoods of the City.

Each 5-member Crew is led by a team leader and they will clean up once a week if needed. They will mark an area with a CGB flag and will be wearing a CGB hat and mask and welcome others to join them when COVID restrictions allow.
