The North Bay Police Service is sending the message out that they are hiring experienced emergency services dispatchers and call-takers.

The North Bay Police Service is looking to hire experienced emergency services dispatchers to work out of its 911 Communications Centre.

Experienced emergency services dispatchers and call-takers would be hired on a full-time basis.

To qualify as an experienced dispatcher, candidates must have been actively dispatched within the emergency services sector within the past five years.

The North Bay Police Service’s 911 Communications Centre dispatches for the North Bay Police Service and North Bay Fire and Emergency Services.

Because the North Bay Police Service uses similar equipment as many police services across Ontario, transition times and onboarding for experienced dispatchers and call-takers is minimal.

All onboarding is done locally at the North Bay Police Service at 135 Princess Street West, North Bay.

“This is the first time the North Bay Police Service has made a specific push to hire experienced full- time dispatchers and call-takers,” said North Bay Police Service Deputy Chief Michael Daze in a release.

“This provides an opportunity for experienced emergency services dispatchers to join our team and enjoy the
benefits of full-time employment with little onboarding required”
