The City of North Bay is making sand and sandbags available to residents concerned about potential shoreline damage caused by rising Lake Nipissing water levels and westerly winds.

City crews have established a sandbag filling station at Sunset Park, located at the end of Sunset Boulevard. The filling station will be operational Sunday until 8 p.m. and will reopen on Monday at 8 a.m., offering sand and sandbags free of charge to residents. Sandbags are intended to be used for reinforcing breakwalls and acting as barriers to prevent water from reaching structures.
