City of North Bay raises Ukrainian flag

The City of North Bay has raised the Ukrainian flag at North Bay City Hall in support of the country in conflict with Russia. 

"In solidarity with the people of Ukraine and on behalf of City Council and the citizens of North Bay, we raised their flag today at City Hall," said Al McDonald, North Bay's Mayor in an online video ceremony on Friday.

McDonald continued stating that he has connected with local families impacted by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.  

"I met with members of our Ukrainian community Friday and heard the horrific accounts of their family members and friends back home under extreme stress. We raised the flag to show that solidarity," he continued. 

A community rally in support of Ukraine is being planned for Friday of this week.
