On Thursday the 27th of August 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers of the North Bay Police Service observed an e-bike swerving as it travelled on Morin Street.
Investigation into this matter revealed that the 55 year old North Bay male operating the e-bike was impaired by alcohol and as a result was charged with the criminal offence of Impaired Driving and will appear in court at a later date.
The public is reminded that e-bikes are considered a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada and as a result, all the federal laws pertaining to alcohol while operating a motor vehicle apply.
