City Launches New Website Link

City officials are pleased to announce the launch of a new link on the City’s popular website that will allow continuous access to the new Official plan process.

An Official Plan is a long-range land use policy document, used to help direct the shape and form of growth and development in the community over a 25-30 year time period. Municipalities use Official Plans to determine where and when growth will occur, in accordance with local objectives and resources.

With a click of the mouse on your personal computer, citizens can find a link on the City of North Bay homepage (www.cityofnorthbay.ca) that will connect a user with the “uPlan” portal. This site contains a variety of information, background reports, studies and a brief user survey. In future days, this site will also contain important information regarding public consultations and public information sessions as the Plan progresses.

“Council is pleased to have this site up and running to improve citizen access to the new Official Plan process” stated Councilor Dave Mendicino, Community Services Committee Chair. Mendicino went on to note “we intend to keep this site updated on a regular basis so that the community will be able to participate actively in the development of a new land use plan for the city.”
