City of North Bay officials are urging residents to be patient with city crews who are working on area roads.

BayToday.ca has received a number of complaint emails including photos of damaged roads or tough to navigate unplowed, slushy streets in the city.

“After months of very cold temperatures, the warm weather is causing many road issues,” admitted Public Works Chair Tanya Vrebosch via Facebook.

“Some ice packed roads in the city are far worse than others. Removing the ice pack ruts from the roads is a priority but unfortunately the snow plow banks being created may block driveways. We are trying to minimize the windrows across driveways, but in some cases it cannot be avoided.”

Mayor Al McDonald stated as well via social media that city crews are working flat out.

“This winter was brutal on roads and equipment. We will spend another 3 million on roads this late spring until fall but can't fix roads permanently until asphalt plants are open.”

The snowblower angel worked on this for quite a while but gave up says Baytoday reader Tina Gale.
