Cigarette used in downtown assault

A North Bay man faces a charge of assault with a weapon after trying to put a cigarette out on another man.

Police say shortly before noon yesterday, the man approached his male victim outside of a building on McIntyre Street East.

The attacker verbally confronted the man and tried to put a lit cigarette out by pressing it against the victim.

The first man left the area but was arrested by police shortly after the incident occurred.

As a result of the investigation North Bay Police have charged Logan Williams, 20, of North Bay with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation and
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with a Recognizance Order

The victim was not injured in the incident.

Williams was held for a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse and faces further charges in relation to an attack this past Saturday in North Bay.
