Chippewa Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) business students, Matthew Robinson and Scott Bertrand and their teacher Tyler Kidd are currently attending the DECA (Distributive Clubs of America) international business case challenge in Louisville, Kentucky. Chippewa's students will be competing in various business related events as well as developing their leadership skills in the Leadership Development Academy.

DECA is a case challenge competition that requires students to develop a solution to business scenarios. Students have a fixed amount of time to develop a solution and present their ideas to a judge who has experience within the cases particular industry. They also complete a one hour multiple choice exam. While in Louisville, Chippewa students have also had the opportunity to enrich their experience by attending many local events in Louisville such as:

- The grand opening of the Kentucky Derby
- Louisville Caverns of
- Muhammed Ali Museum
- Kentucky Science Centre
- Fourth Street Live
- Ohio River Scenery

Chippewa's business program has competed at DECA for three years at the provincial level and is proud to be a part of the international challenge. The team is hopeful to continue to increase their level of international qualifiers as they increase enrolment in their SHSM business studies program.
