Champlain Street bust leads to four arrests

As a result of information received during the investigation, the police were able to secure a search warrant for a residence

Early Saturday morning North Bay Police got a tip about a residential building in the 300 block area of Champlain St. The Street Crime Unit started an investigation that led to the arrest of four people.

As a result of information received during the investigation, the police were able to secure a search warrant for a residence. The execution of the warrant led to the seizure of:

  • 31 grams of cocaine
  • 18 oxycodone pills
  • 0.1 grams of fentanyl
  • four prohibited flick knives
  • $2,805.00 in cash

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $2,450.

Kristopher Burton, 41, of North Bay, Jessica Betts, 28, of North Bay, Jonas Gagne, 40, of North Bay and Harris Zesseu, 25, of Etobicoke were all arrested and are charged with:

  • Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking (cocaine);
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (oxycodone pills);
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl);
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime; and
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapons.

Burton faces an additional charge of Breach of a Prohibition Order.

All four have been released from custody and will make court appearances in the North Bay Courthouse on May 28.
