With the recent positive news of the Abbey reopening their downtown location, President John Strang on behalf of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce wanted to congratulate John Lyle, his family and staff for all their hard work and dedication ensuring that they would once again be a large part of the downtown shopping experience, as they have been for many years.

"As many know, early January’s fire took out some very popular anchor stores in the downtown, and while the rebuild continues for Lefebvre’s and Vested Interest, the Chamber was “very pleased to hear that the Abbey will once again be a participant in this year’s Old Fashioned Christmas Walk” stated Strang.

As the holiday season arrives, the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce encourages the community to support the businesses in the region.

Many retailers rely on this last quarter of the year to ensure sustainability and employment in the region; as such, we hope that the citizens recognize the importance and support Shop Local.

President Strang would like to remind everyone of the “great opportunity to participate in this year’s Old Fashioned Christmas Walk this coming Friday evening, as well as other area retailers and services available throughout the community at the malls and other retail nodes. With less than a month to Christmas, supporting our local economy makes sense and helps support the business owners and their employees that are also our friends and neighbours.”
