Police have released what they think was the cause of a fatal snowmobile accident Tuesday.

OPP investigated the fatal collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Trail 400 near 408 in Carling Township.

At the time of the collision it was snowing heavily and the snowmobile involved in the collision was following the lead snowmobile.

Police have concluded that the driver left the trail and struck a tree.

Speed, the weather as well as being the second of two snowmobiles which affected the operator’s visibility appear to be factors in the collision.

Tara Henderson, 31 years of age from Etobicoke, died of her injuries in hospital.
