Catholic School Board presents 'le festival d’art oratoire'

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is hosting its annual French public speaking contest, “le festival d’art oratoire”, this Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Students from grades 4 to 8 will deliver their speeches to a panel of judges and will compete in the following categories:

- Grades 4-6 Early French Immersion

- Grades 4-6 French as a Second Language Plus (for students with additional French language experience)

- Grades 7-8 Early French Immersion

This year’s speech topics will include chocolate, global warming, karate and sharks among others. The first place finishers of every category may qualify for the provincial “festival d’art oratoire” to be held in Toronto on May 12, 2007.

The event begins at 7 p.m. in the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bishop Carter Auditorium.
