Police say a vehicle hit the ditch on Highway 17 in Bonfield and then caught on fire early this morning. The driver fled and hasn't been found.
It happened just after 5 a.m., when North Bay OPP and the Bonfield Fire Department responded to a fire on Highway 17 East near Trunk Road.
"No driver or occupant was located at the scene," says a news release.
Police are looking for help from the public to identify the driver and possible passengers.
Anyone travelling through the area with dash cam footage or information is asked to contact the North Bay Detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
