Car Chase Leads To Arrest

An officer with a little over 1 month on the job got her share of excitement this morning at approximately 2 AM.

A 5-ton van was reported stolen at 1:49 AM within the city. At 2 AM Cst. Kailee Bradley and Aaron Northrup of the North Bay Police Service spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it. This van continued to Memorial Gardens where the two male occupants fled the scene on foot. The officers gave chase along with off duty Sgt. Joe Bourdon of the Ontario Provincial Police and with the assistance of pepper spray on one of the males, they were both captured.

Two males are in custody and one of them refuses to identify himself. He is described as male, and approximately 18 years old.

He is also charged with Theft over $5000. and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance( marijuana and ecstasy)

Matt Tremblay 18 years old of Sherryl Cr. is charged with Theft Over $5000., Dangerous Driving, Assault to Resist Arrest, Flight From Police and Breach of Probation. Both males remain in custody for a bail hearing.
