This car was almost driven off the Government Dock twice according to a witness.

The Government Dock at King's Landing can be a dangerous place for vehicles.

A BayToday reader witnessed an unusual sight at the waterfront Wednesday evening as a driver almost crashed into the water twice.

The picture shows his car hanging over the edge of the dock near where the Chief docks.

The witness says the police were called and the driver was placed in the back of the cruiser and a tow truck was called.

The witness had been down there fishing with his son.

"My 14 yr old son had been fishing in that exact spot 30 minutes prior. The guy is lucky he didn't hurt or kill someone this evening. It was busy there as we're in the first week of fishing season for walleye."

Police have not laid any charges.

"The North Bay Police Service received reports of a vehicle operating in a dangerous manner at the government docks on Memorial Drive," says spokesman David Woolley. "The vehicle came to a stop with one tire off the side of the dock. Our officers attended the location and identified that the incident was the result of a mechanical failure of the car."

The car was towed from the area. No criminal charges have been laid at this time.
