North Bay OPP responded to a report of a vessel that capsized in Callander Bay off of the old Light House Island in Callander, Ontario earlier this date (November 1st, 2006). Three North Bay and area men were reported to be in the water.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Wednesday November 1st, 2006, three North Bay and area men were returning to shore in an 18 foot aluminium flat bed boat powered by a 20 horsepower outboard motor. They had been moving docks in the area of Callander Bay and were returning for lunch. The winds were high and the water was wavy (reports of 3 foot crests). A wave caught the vessel and it took on water capsizing it. The three men, who were wearing personal floatation devises at the time, were forced into the water. Four people from shore rescued the men. The three were taken to North Bay General Hospital via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
