The Capitol Centre announces its Annual General Meeting Wednesday March 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the RBC Galaxy Circle Lounge. There will be a reception that follows.

Despite a challenging year, with many months where expenses exceeded revenues, The Capitol Centre is pleased to present a balanced statement of operations for the year ended December 31, 2010. This would not have been possible without the continued hard work of the staff and volunteers, as well as the support of our sponsors and patrons.

"A major accomplishment for the Board of Directors and Capitol Centre staff was the development of a new strategic plan. The plan identified areas where we needed to improve as well as areas of opportunity for the Centre and we have already seen positive results. This document will be vital in guiding the Capitol Centre into the future and ensuring sustainability and growth in terms of programming for our community." –Dave Barker, President of the Board

This year the Capitol Centre was named the beneficiary of an insurance policy that came to term when a long-time supporter and volunteer (Joyce Richardson) passed away. The cash gift generated by the insurance policy will be placed in reserve for yet to be determined project use.

The Capitol Centre continues to meet its mandate of being an Art Centre providing a facility for both performing and visual arts that meet the cultural, educational, and entertainment needs of the community.
