Molson, proud supporter of skills development programs across the country, is proud to award Marika Smit with a bursary of $425 for her outstanding work habits and dedication to excellence. Smit is a first year Food and Nutrition Management student at the School of Hospitality at Canadore College.

Every year, the program faculty at the college bestows the award upon an individual who represents the program in an inspiring and positive way. In order to make the greatest impact on her future success, the bursary will go directly toward assisting Marika in helping to pay for her studies.

“This bursary is an excellent way to recognize outstanding academic achievement,” explained Karen McLaren, program director of Food and Nutrition Management at Canadore College. “It allows students like Marika to receive some well deserved accolades while helping them to continue along the path of academic excellence.”

The two-year Food and Nutrition Management program provides students with the understanding and skills to take on food service responsibilities in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, and private industry.

“We’re fortunate to be in a position to help students with financial awards that make their studies a little less stressful,” explained Patrick Geary, Molson representative, North Bay. “On behalf of Molson, I want to congratulate Marika on her achievement and to all candidates on their hard work and effort.”
