Canadore College signed a unique articulation agreement with the University of Fredericton (UFred) last week, allowing graduates to earn a university degree in an accelerated time frame.

Graduates holding a two-year diploma from Canadore’s Business, Police Foundations and Community Justice Services programs can now apply their credits toward an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Husson University, delivered through UFred’s online learning platform. B.Sc. Business graduates satisfy the requirements of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA) and can also apply to UFred’s online MBA program.

“This flexible diploma to degree pathway suits the needs of so many of today’s learners,” said David Himmelman, Dean of Business and Management at Canadore. “Our students benefit greatly because they receive exceptional credit for their past learning. They also have access to their classes 24 hours a day, allowing them to carry out other important commitments in their busy lives.”

UFred is Canada’s most progressive fully online university focused on the advancement of professional careers. In contrast to many diploma to degree articulations, the UFred program requires as few as 10 additional courses to complete a bachelor’s degree, versus the 20 courses often required by other institutional partnerships.

“We recognize and respect the value of the education that graduates receive at Canada’s public community colleges,” said Robert H. Williston, Vice-President and Professor at the University of Fredericton. “This is a very meaningful partnership that provides a cost-effective and affordable degree pathway to students wishing to complete a bachelor’s degree or even a master’s degree.”
