Callander has set its 2024 facility rental rates. Spoiler alert: you can rent the Bill Barber Rink for $80 per hour, plus HST and damage deposit

Callander has set its rates for renting municipal facilities.

The Hec Lavigne Pavilion in Centennial Park has become a favourite place for many, and you can rent it for $25 throughout 2024. There is a two-hour minimum, and days are limited, as the town wants to ensure the public continues to get the most use out of the Pavilion.

However, you are welcome to rent it for get-togethers, but let it be known there is a $500-dollar refundable security deposit to put down. If you require the pavilion’s furniture to be moved, shell out another $400 and the town will move that for you. There is a minimum of a four-hour rental to take advantage of the furniture removal service.

Producing your cinematic masterpiece? You can rent the pavilion for your perfect scene – perhaps a romance on Callander Bay? – for $250 per day, with a four-day maximum, unless approved by council. The security deposit is still required.

If that romance stirred you up, perhaps the Wedding Special at the Callander Community Centre might be of interest. You can rent the entire space for $800 per day. Add another $200, and you can rent the Bill Barber Rink as well for your special day.

To rent the Bill Barber Rink will cost $80 per hour, but this includes the use of the Orton Room. A damage deposit of $50 is required as well but will be returned following staff inspection of the facility. The rink rental schedule is available on the Municipality’s website.

You can rent the large hall, kitchen and bar in the Community Centre for $450 per day or $275 for half a day. If you only need the kitchen, the rate is $175 for a day and $100 for half a day – plenty of time to get your fall pickling done.

The Community Centre rentals rates are the only ones to rise since 2023. The daily rate then was $400 per day and $250 for a half day. Every three years, the municipality reviews the rental rates.

If you want to have a meeting in the South Shore Community Centre, you can book that for $50 per day or $25 for half the day. To rent the Yarlasky Athletic Field, prepare for $100 per day and $50 for a half day. The South Shore Athletic Field can be had for $50 per day and $25 for a half day.

A half day is up to six hours, and a full day is over six hours. Renters are responsible for all set up and clean up associated with the rental.

These fees do not include HST, which will be added for all facility rentals. For more information visit Callander’s municipal website under “Parks and Facilities,” or e-mail the office at [email protected].
