The potential for more foul weather this evening has forced cancellation of the Callander fireworks tonight, rescheduled from Canada Day yesterday.

"We're sad to report that the weather radar and forecast are not indicating favourable conditions for this evening's fireworks. While it appears that the clouds may clear by 10:30 tonight, there is a significant storm front that is expected to arrive around 8:00 pm, thus not providing us with an opportunity to prepare" says Todd Daley, Fire Chief.

"It takes the fire department around 3 hours to setup for a fireworks show and the heaviest rain is expected to arrive at 8:30 and last until 10:00.

"This decision was not made lightly and we are disappointed that we were not able to put on the show. It is still our intention to have a fireworks show this summer and we will let people know well in advance when a date has been set.
