Special guests help usher in 100% Smoke Free at the Clarion by tossing out the ashtrays.

The Clarion Resort Pinewood Park made it official today that guests are no longer welcome to smoke anywhere in the hotel.

With members of the North Bay & District Hospital board and the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit the hotel announced the entire facility is 100%.

“We wanted to work in conjunction with the hospital and the health unit and we decided about six months ago we decided to this,” explains Barb Delorme of sales and marketing.

“It’s taken us this long to get the rooms redone with new carpet paint job, all refurbished so that there is no smoke smell, we were 20 percent (smoking) and now we’re 100 percent non-smoking.”

Delorme says patrons have been favourable with the hotel’s move, and are aware that they can be fined for smoking in the rooms.
