A North Bay man has been charged with drug and other criminal charges.

Further information is included in the following news release issued this morning by the Ontario Provincial Police North Bay detachment:

On Thursday March 17, 2005, the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists of members from the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Section, Ontario Provincial Police North East Region Crime Unit and the North Bay Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a North Bay apartment.

Twenty-seven grams of cocaine, 252 grams of marihuana, 152 grams of psilocybin, 77 grams of cannabis resin, 10 Ecstasy tablets, 11 methamphetamine tablets, a $100 counterfeit bill along with $7,255 in Canadian currency was seized.

Various swords and knives were also seized during the investigation. One individual has been charged with a number of drug related offences. The potential street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $13,170.

CHARGED:
Shawn GLASS, 21, of 330 Sixth Avenue, North Bay, is charged with the following offences:

Nine counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Sec 5(2) CDSA;

Two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Sec 4(1) CDSA;

Possession of counterfeit money, Sec 450 (b) CC.

COURT: Bail hearing scheduled for March 18, 2005 in North Bay
