North Bay waterskier Jaimee Bull missed her 11.25 m pass in the finals, scoring three buoys at the 11.25 m line length, placing her seventh at the World Waterski Championships taking place in Putra Jaya, Malaysia.

She skied well through the 12 m line but had a bobble on her gate pull out on the 11.25 m line which caused her to mistime her start.

At that line length, the rope is 0.5 m short of buoy width so any small mistake makes that pass very difficult.

Manon Costard of France won the event with a score of 2 buoys @10.75 m. 2017 World Champion and current world record holder, Regina Jaquess of the USA was second scoring 1 buoy @ 10.75 m. Jaime Metcalf of New Zealand finished third with 1 buoy @ 10.75 m.

In the entire tournament only four women in the entire field, including Jaimee completed the 11.25 m line length, which is highly unusual for that level of tournament.

The six-member Canadian team captured the Team Overall Gold Medal while the USA and France finished second and third respectively in that portion of the event.

The North Bay native heads back to the University of Louisiana this coming weekend where she will begin training for the upcoming American Collegiate Waterski Season. She will be hoping to defend her Collegiate National Championship title from last season. Collegiate Nationals will be held near Sacramento, California at Bell-Aqua Waterski Complex in mid-October.

On another note, Jaimee's World championship record score of 5 buoys @ 10.75 m set at he U21 World waterski championships earlier this season is now in the IWWF books.
