The Breastfeeding Coalition of North Bay is hosting a world record event Saturday September 30th in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week.

The event hosted in conjunction with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, will see mothers and babies across Canada and the United States attempt to set a record for breastfeeding the most babies at onetime.

North Bay’s event is slated to go at 11:00 a.m. at The Ontario Early Years Centre on Chippewa Street.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit and the Breastfeeding Coalition of North Bay and Area will be celebrating World Breastfeeding Week in record-breaking fashion.

On September 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. mothers and babies at sites across Canada and the United States will compete to set the record for the most babies breastfeeding at one time. The winners of the competition will be the region (province or territory or state) with the most babies participating as a percentage of the birth rate.

This event takes place as part of the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week in Canada. The theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2006 Celebrations is “Code Watch: 25 Years of Protecting Breastfeeding”.
It is sponsored by the Quintessence Foundation, a non-profit group providing education to parents and professionals about breastfeeding

This Quintessence World Record challenge will be held on Saturday September 30, 2006 at 11:00 at The Ontario Early Years Centre-Nipissing, 171 Chippewa Street West.
