As part of the Ferris Fun Day, Terry’s Place at 524 Lakeshore Drive will be hosting a “Breakfast with Vitali and Guy” on Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. The event is co-sponsored by Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Bay.

Vitali Yachmenev played junior hockey with the North Bay Centennials. He then played 483 games in the NHL.

Vitali was the 3rd round pick of the L.A. Kings and played three seasons with the team. Vitali also signed with the Predators where he played five seasons.

He then Played in the KHL from 2003 to 2004 and Coached for 4 years before returning to North Bay.

Guy Blanchard Coached at all levels from beginners to OHL for the past 42 years. He spent his last 12 years at the U18, U16, U15, U14, and U13 AAA level.

Guy also spent two years with the North Bay Centennials with Bert Templeton.

He was Coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL and Assistant coach with the Guelph Storms

Guy was the Coach/GM/Owner of the North Bay Skyhawks in Sturgeon Falls and the Powassan Hawks

He is a Member of the Sports Hall of Fame and Head Coach Consultant for the North Bay & District Trappers AAA hockey association. 

Together, Vitali and Guy will be coaching the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

“It’s an exciting time for me. I’m looking forward to the season coming up and working with Guy," states Vitali.  

“I believe in this program. I’ve been involved with this program for a long time. It’s a real game changer for some of these players to come in and get themselves an opportunity to move on to the next level if that is what they are interested in," said Blanchard. 

“Vitali and I will be co coaches and Vitali will have a big say on what is going to happen on the ice. I am looking forward to sharing hockey ideas with him.

"The end winner will be the players to have someone like Vitali to help them grow as a player”
