New Liskeard's Justin Brazeau is going from one side of the Leafs-Bruins rivalry to the other.

According to Providence Bruins Insider Mark Divver, Brazeau is signing a minor-league contract with the Boston Bruins affiliate club in Providence (AHL).

A 6-foot-6 winger, Brazeau has appeared in 22 games with the Toronto Marlies over the past two seasons, and scored four goals on 29 shots and added an assist in 21 appearances in 2020-21.

The 23-year-old spent the majority of the 2019-20 season with the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL, with 27 goals and 55 points in 57 games played.

Prior to his jump to the pros, Brazeau blew away Battalion records finishing his overage year with 61 goals and 113 points in 68 contests.

Big Braz finished with 128 goals and 238 points in 268 Ontario Hockey League contests over four seasons.

Reports indicate that Brazeau was on the Bruins' radar prior to him signing his minor league deal with the Marlies.

Brazeau hopes to follow in the footsteps of former Battalion teammate Brady Lyle, who signed an AHL deal with Providence and in the off-season inked a two-way NHL deal with the Bruins.
