Some of the massive Boxing Day sales are still going on today but Northgate Shopping Centre Marketing Director Jordanna Grant says it’s been a good last few days for the well known regional shopping mecca.

“Traffic this year was up from traffic in year's past,” stated Grant in an email to BayToday.ca

Grant feels Boxing Day sales benefit the shoppers who take advantage of the savings.

However, the sales help the retailers too.

“Boxing Day sales are important for our retailers as they are the last final push to make sales goals for the year,” she said.

Black Friday sales which took place in late November, have become another key shopping sale driver prior to Christmas. However, Boxing Day still has some post-Christmas perks.

“Black Friday is a big sales day however Boxing Day remains a very busy shopping day as well,” said Grant.

“People come in to spend the gift cards and cash that they received as gifts to purchase items for themselves.”
