Today Mayor Al McDonald and Chamber of Commerce President Derek Shogren joined the staff of Le Centre Culturel Les Compagnons des francs loisirs to announce a new initiative that confirms the city is a Franco friendly place.

The initiative, which is designed to strengthen and promote pride in the Franco community, is a partnership between Le Centre Culturel Les Compagnons des francs loisirs, RDÉE Ontario and Élargir l’espace francophone supported by Ontario Trillium Foundation and Canadian Heritage.

As part of the Parle-mon s’en program local businesses will hang winder decals to indicate they are on board with the program and will do their best to offer assistance in both official languages.

Mayor McDonald says the region is seeing a surge in business from across the Quebec border and it makes sense to let folks know they are welcome and supported here.
