Medical Officer of Health Dr Catherine Whiting has lifted the boil water advisory issued October 29th for the Local Services Board of Thorne, effective immediately.

Laboratory results for bacteria were negative. The Local Services Board and the Ontario Clean Water Agency have taken appropriate steps to rectify the current situation.

Residential users of the municipal water supply in that area are advised to run each of their cold water taps for one minute. To remove sediment, screens should be removed from taps, rinsed and replaced. These steps, in addition to normal use of water, will be sufficient to ensure that properly chlorinated water is available at the tap.

There have been no increased reports of gastrointestinal-like illness during the advisory from hospital emergency rooms, walk-in clinics, or TeleHealth.
