The OPP told BayToday that a body has been recovered out of Lake Nipissing on Saturday afternoon.

The OPP responded to a call that a body was floating in the lake near Goose Island.

"I can confirm a body was recovered today in Lake Nipissing and recovered by North Bay OPP marine unit. At this time the investigation is continuing with the assistance of North Bay Crime Unit under the direction of the coroner," Staff Sgt. Bill McMullen told BayToday via email on Saturday night.

Witnesses told BayToday that the OPP brought the body to the shore by the boat slip near the Marina office on the North end of Lake Nipissing.

The witness says the body was taken away in a black OPP van.
