Bluesfest ends with a scorching set from David Gogo

Gogo's searing rendition of Bob Dylan's Highway 61 as an encore topped an hour-long set that included a number of blues favourites

Canadian blues guitarist extraordinaire, David Gogo didn't disappoint Sunday night as the headliner brought the crowd to its feet with a string of hard-driving numbers to bring the event to a close.

Gogo's searing rendition of Bob Dylan's Highway 61 as an encore topped an hour-long set that included a number of blues favourites.

The event included a solid lineup of local and out-of-town musicians including Saturday night headliner, Finnish blues sensation,Erja Lyytinen. In 2017 Lyytinen was voted as "The Best Guitarist of the Year" in the European Blues Awards.

The Bluesfest musical lineup was exceptional this year, but almost constant rain Saturday kept fans away, but perfect weather Sunday saw a rebound.

The event is put on by the Capitol Centre, and volunteers made sure it ran smoothly.

Sponsors include: Redpath, 9 Lives Design, Best Western North Bay, Gateway City Brewery, and McVean Tax Professional Corporation with funding partners NOHFC, City of North Bay, and Government of Ontario.
