The North Bay City Clerk's Department disclosed election reports in last Fall’s municipal election revealing that it cost some folks a big chunk of change to sit on council.

With the maximum $35,638 set for mayoral candidate to spend, both incumbent Victor Fedeli and Stan Lawlor were edging up to the limit. Lawlor spending $31,620 edged out Fedeli in campaign spending by a mere $252. Fedeli says he is pleased that once again he had an open and transparent campaign.

“As Mayor, I am very proud of the leadership role I played with my open and transparent rules for campaign donations,” he states.

“As with the last election I chose to not take corporation donations, limit my donations to $100 or under from any donor, and to publish my complete donors' list prior to the election. This way I will never be beholding to any corporation, and everyone can see where all my donations came from."

The expenses include before and after campaign expenses such as signage, polling, brochures and thank you ads.
