South Shore road in East Ferris has been closed due to beaver dam break, officials in East Ferris are reporting Sunday morning.

“The road has washed out at the South Shore Road and Cedar Bay Road intersection due to a beaver dam letting go,” stated the Municipality of East Ferris Facebook page.

“Detours have been set up. Residents/vehicles are asked to detour this area by using Village Road and proceeding to Rivers Road into Chisholm or proceed to Bonfield and then onto Quae Quae Road to get to Corbeil," the East Ferris statement continued.

Emergency services and public works crews are on the scene trying to repair the damage from the beaver dam flood.
