Long-time North Bay leaders, Mathilde Gravelle Bazinet and Dr. Donald Stemp have each been re-appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council to continue to serve on the North East LHIN Board of Directors.

Mathilde Gravelle Bazinet, a member of the Law Society of Ontario, entered the law profession after a successful 20-year career in the field of Nursing Education and Health Care Administration at the community college and university level within the Provincial and Federal Public Sector. Ms. Bazinet has served on numerous professional Committees, Boards, and Commissions. These include: Ontario Health Review Panel (Evans Commission), Ottawa-Carleton Regional District Health Council, University of Ottawa Alumni Association, Faculty of Medicine – Postgraduate Education Committee (University of Ottawa), Loeb Medical Research Institute and North Bay's St. Joseph's Hospital Board. In June 2004 she was appointed Commissioner for Ontario Northland Transportation Commission. Ms. Bazinet is the author of several publications in the field of conflict resolution, health care administration, and emergency services. Ms. Bazinet was appointed the Founding Chair of the North East Local Health Integration Network in June 2005 and will continue to serve as Chair until June 2009.

Local family physician, Dr. Stemp received his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1967. He practiced medicine in Caledonia, Ontario, 1968-1969 and in Prince George, British Columbia, 1969-1972. He has been in general practice in North Bay since 1972. Within the North Bay community, Dr. Stemp has served in many capacities, including nine years on the board of Nipissing University. Dr. Stemp was Chief of Staff at the North Bay General Hospital from 1996 to 1999. From 1996 to the present, he has been Vice-Chair of the Terry McKerrow CT Fund. Dr. Stemp is also an assistant professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and is involved in medical student and resident training. Dr. Donald Stemp has been serving on the NE LHIN Board of Directors since May 2006 and will continue to serve until July 2009.
