Wawa - Superior East OPP, (Wawa) are investigating an ATV collision that occurred just off Highway 651 near Missanabie on the 21st of September 2007.
At 11:00am on Friday, 21 Sep 07, a 2001 Polaris ATV was driven off an open area, into the bush at which time the vehicle rolled onto its side and the driver was thrown. There was minimal damage to the 4-wheeler. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The driver, 59 year old Gerald KURT of Heidelberg, Ontario was taken to Lady Dunn hospital in Wawa by ambulance. Mr. KURT died later that evening in hospital as a result of his injuries.
A Post Mortem has been scheduled for Monday 24 Sep 07 in Sault Ste Marie to determine the cause of death. Superior East OPP are continuing their investigation with the assistance of a Technical Traffic Collision Investigators.
