A North Bay man is facing a pair of assault charges after police allege he hit another man with a frying pan.
Police say the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday when police responded to a 911 call about a loud dispute at a North Bay apartment earlier that morning.
Police arrived at the apartment where the accused lives.
Police say at that time a fight had broken out between the accused and another man, and the altercation turned violent.
It's alleged the accused punched the other man and hit him with a frying pan.
Darian Lyle Laffrenier, age 22, of North Bay and charged him with:
• One count of assault causing bodily harm;
• One count of assault with a weapon; and
• One count of breach of undertaking.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result and was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
