To honour a 10 years of keeping local art in the public eye, Art on Main is hosting a special evening of celebration on June 17th from 6 to 8 p.m.

In addition to celebrating its accomplishments, Art on Main members will give thanks to those who contributed to the organization’s success, including special guest Mayor Al McDonald.

"For a decade, Art on Main has earned a reputation for encouraging and supporting the professional and creative development of local artists. Having provided a venue for over 100 artists to display and sell their work, Art on Main has had a profound effect on shaping the diversity and richness of the arts in North Bay," said Christine Gillespie, Community Outreach Coordinator.

"Art on Main was the brain child of Tiiu Vail, former DIA Executive Director, Molly Reeder, owner of the first location, Catherine Mayne of NECO, and Karen Jones who was then Manager of the Nipissing/Parry Sound Business Centre. Together these four women shared a vision for a non-profit artists’ collective and brought it to fruition with the help of local artists.È

Art on Main’s 10th anniversary celebration will take place at their location at 171 Main Street West.
