Good news for skier and boarders that like to keep in touch using wireless technology. They can now immediately share their experiences at Antoine Mountain, as well stay in touch with family and friends.

Visitors to Antoine Mountain are now able to call, text, browse, and watch video using the latest wireless devices, handsets, tablets and smartphones on the Bell network.

That's because the Mattawa-Bonfield Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with Antoine Mountain and Bell Mobility, has launched 4G LTE wireless service at the outdoor facility.

“Businesses require constant communication," says Todd Yule, President Antoine. "Working from everywhere is the new working from home, with reliable mobile internet connection our guests can stay connected when skiing at Antoine Mountain.”

In July of 2014 Yule announced it would be redeveloped after sitting idle for more than a decade.

The facility opened its doors for the first time in more than a decade on February 8th last year after a multi-million dollar investment which included the installation of a new high capacity quad chair lift, modernization renovations to the chalet, and construction of a new building to house the ski school / rental facility and mountain maintenance equipment.

Mattawan Township Mayor Peter Murphy said, “In today’s world, cell phone service is mandatory for a tourist destination location such as Antoine Mountain."

Jeff McGirr, Director of Economic Development Mattawa-Bonfield Economic Development Corporation called the improvement "a key component in our region’s economic development strategic plan. The facility attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually and is well positioned for further development in the future. The communication infrastructure is critical to the customer experience, business operations and future growth".
