Annual Carousel Evening event goes May 15th

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board’s Parent Involvement (PIC) and Special Education Advisory (SEAC) Committees invite all parents, educators, professionals and anyone with an interest in education to the annual Carousel Evening on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall (SJSH) Catholic Secondary School. This year’s event, themed “Healthy Minds: Healthy Kids!”, will feature 11 free workshops addressing timely topics across the special education spectrum, interactive displays by local agencies and businesses, and free childcare on site.


Workshops include: Anxiety in Children; ADHD; Supporting the Healthy Emotional Development of our Children: Skills Every Parent Should Know (and your parents couldn’t teach you); Technology: How Can it Help With Homework?; Physical Activity; Nutrition; Bullying Awareness, Prevention and Intervention; Triple P for Every Parent; Social Media & The Law; The Dangers of Drugs; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
