A unique exercise program finished off with a splash, literally on Friday morning at Ecole Saint-Raymond.
The school implemented a exercise pilot project where since May 17 to 20 grade five students at the school started the day with exercise including running, yoga and even skipping as part of the Spark program.
“The goal is to observe the impact of physical activity early in the day on brain stimulation, student motivation, concentration in class and therefore overall success,” the school stated in a media release.
“The results are measured and will be compared to illustrate the link between complete well-being, physical health and learning.”
The school decided to finish the program with a bang with by holding a colour run where the youngsters rushed through explosions of colour and then ran to Lee Park and back to their school to conclude the program.
Officials at the school hope to expand the program to more French Catholic Schools (Franco Nord) next year.
