High levels of air pollution due to smoke from forest fires will likely return today or tonight.
A Special Air Quality Statement is in effect for:
- North Bay - West Nipissing
- Powassan - Mattawa
- South Riverv- Burk'd Falls
- Huntsville - Parry Sound
Smoke plumes from forest fires in northeastern Ontario and Quebec are forecast to return to the area today or tonight.
As a result, the air quality is expected to deteriorate once again.
The poor air quality will likely last into Friday.
