Every two hours a Canadian becomes infected with HIV, a startling fact that the AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area (ACNBA) want residents to remember as the nation recognises World AIDS Day Saturday December 1st.

ACNBA staff and volunteers have been busy all week bringing the AIDS Awareness Week theme message ‘IT’S TIME’ out into the community. Today officials from Nipissing University and Canadore College, along with Nipissing MPP Monique Smith and Mayor Vic Fedeli joined the staff for a special ceremony held in the main Education Centre foyer to recognize the most devastating diseases of our time and how each of us can make a difference.

Saturday will conclude the week with area galleries shrouding works for a Day Without Art to demonstrate the impact HIV/AIDS has had on the arts community.
