Advance polls don't indicate heavy turnout

If the number of ballots cast at advance polls is any indication, voter turnout in North Bay won't be much higher than four years ago. Numbers released by City Clerk Cathy Conrad show that of 36,700 eligible voters, 2,614 ballots were cast.

If the number of ballots cast at advance polls is any indication, voter turnout in North Bay won't be much higher than four years ago.

Numbers released by City Clerk Cathy Conrad show that of 36,700 eligible voters, 2,614 ballots were cast.

That's about 7.13%.

Four years ago that number was 6.27% after 2,255 voters took advantage of advance polls.

But this year there were two extra polling days, which may account for the slightly higher number.
